Why we built it
QR codes had a moment, and the tools cashed in with dark patterns. Generate a “free” code, print it on a thousand menus or a box of business cards, and days later it dies unless you start paying. Public reviews describe wedding invitations and restaurant menus going dark mid-use.
The dead code is the business model. A printed code is leverage: once it's in the world, deactivating it costs you far more than the subscription. We think that's backwards. A tool should earn the upgrade on merit, without holding your printed codes hostage.
We drew a hard line: every code, on every plan, stays live forever. You upgrade for more codes, higher limits, webhooks and the API. You never pay to keep the ones you already printed from breaking.
